Barber Osgerby chair shortlisted in Designs of the Year

We’re delighted to see the winning Bodleian Libraries chair, designed by duo Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby, has been shortlisted as one of the Design Museum’s Designs of the Year. This charming three-legged oak creation is only the third chair to be developed specifically for the Bodleian since 1756. Some of ourfavourites among the impressive shortlist of 76 currently on show are the clever Bradley Timepiece, a tactile watch for the visually impaired that allows users to feel the time; Philippe Malouin’s beautiful geometric MDF experimentation Simple; and Tracey Neuls Bike Geek shoes which feature a reflective ‘cat eye’ tab making the wearer safely visible at night.

The exhibition runs from 26 March – 25 August 2014;  designsoftheyear.com
