Award-winning industrial designer Terence Woodgate has launched an equity crowdfunding campaign to expand his new lighting brand, Terence Woodgate Lighting Limited, which features a range of beautiful lights made from Carrara and Nero Marquina marble, oak and walnut.
Woodgate’s equity crowdfunding initiative to raise £150,000 of funding in return for a 17% share in the business is now live on online equity crowdfunding platform Crowdcube. In the first day, he bagged a massive £25,000 but he needs more support to hit the target. The cash will enable him to launch further collections and expand overseas.
Launched earlier this year in February, the brand is spearheaded by Terence Woodgate himself, a Royal Designer for Industry (RDI) who has more than 25 years’ experience in lighting design and manufacture. With few light fittings currently designed around LEDs, the company puts the technology at its heart, acknowledging the phase-out of incandescent bulbs and the growing level of public awareness in reducing energy consumption to combat climate change.
