Between 13 and 15 May, New York’s warehouse-style ArtBeam venue in Chelsea will host designjunction + Dwell on Design, with more than 20 contemporary design brands including Artek, Dyke & Dean, Iota, Muuto, Haberdashery, Cuero Design, Buster + Punch and Melin Tregwynt taking part. While WeWork will host a pop-up workspace with free wifi and furniture provided by Muuto, the show café will be furnished by Vitra and Artek, with a free illy espresso for every visitor.
The three-day event also boasts a specially curated talks series, developed by Amanda Dameron of Dwell magazine. The programme will explore the built environment in the modern world, and feature a stellar line-up of high profile industry panelists including leading architects, designers, creative directors and curators.
Renowned illustrator and author Bob Gill, who has hugely influenced modern typography, design, and graphics in his 60 year career, will headline the talks programme. He will be joined by others including Mikael Ydholm, Head of Research at IKEA, Gregory Wessner, Executive Director of Open House New York, and architects Karen Stonely of SPAN Architecture, Stephanie Goto and Alexander Gorlin.
