28 April – 1 May 2014, Stand 3536
London, April 2014
Later this month, established German manufacturer Dornbracht Group will present its new bathroom launches at Hotelympia, the UK’s largest foodservice and hospitality event, taking place at London’s Excel on 28 April – 1 May.
For the first time in the UK, Dornbracht introduces the rosy hues of the growing copper colour trend to the bathroom with its iconic MEM fitting series in a new exquisite finish, Cyprum, made of 18-carat gold and genuine copper.
11 years after introducing MEM, 2014 sees this illustrious Dornbracht fitting presented in a fresh new light. The form of the series has been subtly revised, and the refinement enables a number of new combination possibilities with outlet points and control elements from other series in the Dornbracht portfolio. A freestanding bath mixer complements the MEM range with an entirely new type of product that incorporates a cascade spout, a bar-type hand shower and the control system, in a sculptured shape.
Dornbracht Group will form part of the specialised Bathroom and Spa zone, presenting Dornbracht’s Smart Water, a series of products developed with the future of bathroom technology and design in mind; the manufacturer’s brand claim Culturing Life will also be explored with the presentation of the Foot Bath. This electronic and scenario adaptable unit will offer visitors the opportunity to enjoy an individual and invigorating foot-bathing experience at the stand.
Dornbracht showers from across its portfolio will be displayed alongside Alape’s unique collection of 3mm-thick glassed steel basins and innovative flat table washstand Betty Blue. Alape, part of the Dornbracht Group, will showcase its adaptable furniture module system init, which allows the integration of selected basins in a range of different furniture elements. The system offers diverse, minimalist and purist design solutions for the bathroom, by opening up a range of possibilities for creating unique wash places with a truly personal touch. Init, a nominee in the Design category, will sit among Hotelympia’s Innovation Awards finalists down the show’s main aisle.
Alape’s Asystem init will be presented for the first time in the UK in Firnis, an exceptionally hardwearing finish that unites the advantages of laminates and varnishes in a single material. Glued joints are a thing of the past as Alape employs unprecedented state-of-the-art laser technology to fuse together the edge and surface material.
On Wednesday 30 April, world-renowned architect and product designer Yorgo Lykouria will take part in Hotelympia’s Design Stage seminars, in a talk sponsored by Dornbracht Group. Lykouria will take to the stage at 16:00 when he will examine the architectonic unity in architecture, product design and film with examples of his works. Alape’s relationship with London-based designer Lykouria dates back to the late 90s; he has since designed a series of basins and an All-In-One Wall System for Alape.
