“It’s all happening at the Zoo”, sang Simon & Garfunkel in 1967. Especially when the zoo in question is Dorothy’s Rock ‘N Roll Zoo. Perfect for the music lover and big kid alike, the new print collection is inspired by a series of classic song titles from the history of popular music.
Featuring creatures great and small, this whimsical series visualises timeless classics with fun and imaginative original illustrations. Take a stroll through the Rock ‘N Roll Zoo, making sure to take a walk on the wild side with the big cats, such as Eye of the Tiger by Survivor, and don’t forget to visit ‘Bird Avenue’ to see feathered friends such as When Doves Cry by Prince.
Other favourites included in the print are Buffalo Soldier (Bob Marley), Elephant Stone (The Stone Roses), Monkey Gone To Heaven (Pixies), Rocky Raccoon (The Beatles), Crocodile Rock (Elton John), The Love Cats (The Cure), Diamond Dogs (David Bowie), Hounds of Love (Kate Bush), Little Red Rooster (The Rolling Stones), Beetlebum (Blur) and Superfly (Curtis Mayfield).
To accompany the full print, Dorothy has also designed four sets of three prints to cater to a variety of musical tastes; The 70s Classic Collection (featuring Crazy Horses by The Osmonds, Superfly by Curtis Mayfield and Diamond Dogs by David Bowie); The 80s Classic Collection (featuring Bat Out of Hell by Meatloaf, Eye of the Tiger by Survivor and Hungry Like the Wolf by Duran Duran); The Beatles Collection (featuring Rocky Raccoon, Blackbird and I am the Walrus); and The Indie Kid Collection (featuring Elephant Stone by The Stone Roses, Monkey Gone to Heaven by Pixies and Beetlebum by Blur).
Each consisting of three 12″ sized prints, the sets are packaged and presented in a record sleeve and retail for £30 per set, or £15 for each individual print.
