As part of Lucienne Day’s centenary year celebrations, last month design store twentytwentyone hosted ‘Day for Flowers’, an exhibition of one-off floral arrangements by ten designers from the worlds of fashion, architecture and design. The displays, by designers including Barber Osgerby, Margaret Howell and Faye Toogood, used a limited run of the Lucienne Day flower brick re-issued in two patterns, Papercut and Triangles – her reinterpretation of 18th-century decorative Delftware used to create ornate floral displays – and provided a dramatic and inspiring summer show in tribute to one of Britain’s most highly regarded textile designers. Check out photographs from the exhibition (21 – 26 June) here, and they are available to buy in store here.
