This latest addition to London Docklands by architects SimpsonHaugh, completed last month, defining the gateway to the Isle of Dogs with a distinctive crystalline tower. The 31-storey residential building, which provides 125 waterfront homes and newly landscaped public space, is designed as a catalyst for new architecture to this underused waterside space. Innovations of the tower include an energy efficient cooling system using water from the docks. Dollar Bay is the first in a trio of high-profile projects by SimpsonHaugh to complete, with Circus West Village at the Battersea Power Station Development due for completion later in the year and One Blackfriars, due to complete in 2018.
