Speirs + Major’s new lighting installation HALFLIFE has wow factor

Who needs to go clubbing for their kicks when installations like Speirs + Major’s HALFLIFE are so electrifying? The new lighting installation was unveiled last month at Kings Cross and runs the entire length the 90m-long pedestrian tunnel that is one of the main links between the two mainline stations, restaurants and offices including David Chipperfield’s recently completed One St Pancras Square. Part of an ongoing local art programme, the installation features red, green, blue and white lights that dance throughout the tunnel and react to passersby, meaning that no person will ever see the same thing – incredibly no two moments will be the same. What better way is there to end your daily commute to work?
