Open House Festival – making architecture more accessible

For over 30 years, Open City has worked to encourage greater equity in London’s architecture and built environment – key to year-round programme is the annual, city-wide Open House Festival, which sees hundreds of places in all of the boroughs open their doors to the public.

Each year the Festival engages tens of thousands of visitors across 700+ sites from Barnet to Bromley, Havering to Hillingdon. This year’s highlights include the Royal Courts of Justice, a guided walking tour of mosaics at Broadwater Farm, the newly restored Walworth Town Hall, a dedicated range of British Sign Language events developed in collaboration with Deaf Architecture Front founder Chris Laing, and tours of #Merky FC HQ football and community centre, created by Stormzy and Adidas.

The festival is a firm favourite at Caro, and we are delighted to be partnering with Open City as the charity’s cultural communications strategist.
