Design Mumbai 2024

India’s First International Contemporary Design Show

The global design events calendar has long been an indicator of industry trends, reflecting both the tastes and trade dynamics of the world. Over the decades, we have seen the usual run of events fluctuate through economic downturns, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the battle for relevance in a digital world. Within this landscape, some events have thrived—Salone Del Mobile’s visitor numbers keep growing (almost 400,000 people visited this year, which is over 100,000 more than in 2022), as do Maison et Objet’s (up by 5% this year) and Design Shanghai’s (with a record-breaking 70,000 guests).

But what’s next? Well, the eyes of the world are locked firmly on India’s design scene, its creative energy, and consumer power, as the fifth largest economy in the world.

Enter Design Mumbai, India’s first-ever international contemporary design event. Organised by Angus Montgomery, the independent event organiser behind iconic shows such as India Art Fair, this four-day trade event with select VIP consumer access will take place at the sought-after Jio World Garden in the heart of Mumbai, 6-9 November. Household names in design such as VitrA, de Sede, Poltrona Frau, Jaipur Rugs and Hastens will be taking place alongside major national talent including Loco Design, Ek Kalakaar, Objectry, AKFD and more.

Strategy, partnerships and curation

With more than 30 years experience of communicating design shows including 100% Design, World Architecture Festival, designjunction, Habitare, and New Designers, as well as launching Clerkenwell Design Week, Caro is harnessing its expertise to deliver an integrated communications campaign across PR, social media, media partnerships, curation and content creation for Design Mumbai.

The objective? To launch Design Mumbai as a must-see lodestone of the global design events calendar, furnishing the show with show-stopping designer collaborations, features, and an exclusive content programme.

Building momentum for a must-see event

Defining a tone of voice for a brand-new show, establishing high-engagement social media accounts, negotiating far-reaching media partnerships with Dezeen and STIRWorld amongst others, and crafting direct marketing content for global databases of design and architecture VIPs are just some of the ways Caro is solidifying Design Mumbai as a must-see design event. So far, our monthly impressions on Design Mumbai’s social media channels are reaching over 1.5m people, and our average media circulation is hitting almost 3m unique users monthly.

As November approaches, the anticipation builds. Design Mumbai is set to be more than just an event; it will be a beacon of contemporary design, spotlighting the creative energy and consumer power of India. We hope to see you at Design Mumbai 2024!
