Expect big celebrations on Artek’s stand at Salone del Mobile this year when the Finnish design brand marks its 80th anniversary.
A specially commissioned stand design by Berlin-based architects Kuehn Malvezzi is one not to be missed, offering three unique interconnected settings using Artek’s signature colour palette – white, sage and grey.
‘White’ offers the centre stage to introduce the Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec designed Kaari collection, the designers’ first collaboration with the Finnish company. ‘Sage’ is a forest-like setting of round pedestals showcasing the brand’s past and present collections, while ‘Grey’ provides a space highlighting Artek’s historical collection of lamps to create a ‘starry sky’.
On Artek’s stand, look out for Alvar Aalto’s Tea Trolley 901 re-interpreted by Hella Jongerius, and re-editions of the TW003 pendant lamp designed by the late Finnish designer Tapio Wirkkala in the 1960s.
Artek is showing at Salone del Mobile, Pavilion 20/C08, 14-19 April 2015 (9.30am – 6.30pm)
