BarberOsgerby wins Bodleian Library Chair competition
Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby have won the coveted Bodleian Libraries Chair Competition. The duo beat stiff competition from Matthew Hilton and Amanda Levete to win with its three-legged oak chair that echoes the spines of books on shelves. The winning design – only the third specially commissioned by Bodleian since 1756 – will be produced by Isokon and will find its home in the iconic 1930s Sir Giles Gilbert Scott Weston Library, which is being remodelled by architects Wilkinson Eyre.
