Camden Highline
The brief – creating a narrative for London’s garden in the sky
In 2023, planning approval was granted for the first section of a new elevated, urban park for London. Our brief was to announce the news of the approval, which will see the transformation of a section of disused railway in Camden, north London into a public space.
Critical to this work was the development of a community-centred narrative around the project, alongside strategic relationships with key media, and a campaign to raise the profile of the CEO of Camden Highline, Simon Pitkeathley.
What we did – stakeholder engagement and press outreach
After sowing the seeds with key journalists, we worked strategically with the project design partners, including architects, engineers and landscape designers, to establish key messaging and ensure consistent communications across all teams.
The Caro press team built bespoke press lists for national, local and trade media, conducted outreach around the planning decision, and subsequently managed the press office – handling all press enquiries, coordinating interviews, site visits and media tours.
The results – international coverage
Overall, our work secured coverage in 22 countries, in publications like Bloomberg, The Times, Evening Standard, City A.M, and BBC News, as well as broadcast media, including the Monocle Urbanist podcast, BBC Radio London, and BBC’s TV London News.
