Come and see Caro clients at Milan Design Week 2019

Dornbracht – ‘Is Memory Data’ VR exhibition

If April spells one thing in our calendar, it’s Milan Design Week, and we are looking forward to our annual dose of great design, parties, aperitivo and way too much espresso.

Next week our team will be descending on the city to join a number of our clients as they launch new collections, present exhibitions, and host exclusive events. Running from 8 – 14 April, it looks set to be an exciting and action-packed week.

Dornbracht will be hosting a virtual reality (VR) exhibition, ‘Is Memory Data’ at Spazio Brera (Via Pontaccio 19). This showcase is the first iteration of the Dornbracht Research Lab, looking at how new technologies can transform, enhance or even replace our encounters with water. Using VR goggles, visitors will immerse themselves in a world of hyper-reality where they experience space, matter and the element of water, in an unprecedented, playful way.

If you are heading to the main fairground in Rho Fiera which opens next Tuesday 9 April, then don’t miss our two lighting clients, Preciosa and Bert Frank at Euroluce – the fair’s dedicated lighting section.

Preciosa – Carousel of Light

Glass specialists Preciosa (Hall 15, Stand A37 – B34) will return with its contemporary collections, as well as interactive designs including the new ‘Carousel of Light’ which comprises nearly 8,000 spheres in frosted hues stretching 8 metres in diameter.

Bert Frank – Rote pendant

Joining the fair for the first time, Bert Frank (Hall 9, Stand E12) will present its full collections – all designed and made in the UK. The latest pieces reference Art Deco and industrial aesthetics, marrying them with a technical expertise and level of quality that the brand is known for.

Meanwhile, as part of the Brera Design District, leading architect Mario Cucinella will present his inaugural design collection at Spazio Tabu (Via Varese 12), under a new brand ‘Mario Cucinella Design’. ‘Building Objects’ is an exhibition of 20 unique objects which take direct inspiration from some of the practice’s architectural projects. Working with the finest craftsmen specialising in glass, wood, metal, brass, silver, marble and fabric, Cucinella has designed these exquisite one-off pieces in homage to the Bauhaus movement, which celebrates its centenary this year. Open throughout Milan Design Week.
