Is there a future for physical shops?

archiboo returns this month to explore the future of retail, with a talk that asks ‘Is there a future for physical shops?’.

Taking place at designjunction at King’s Cross – an event that will see the participation of numerous local retailers – the talk will explore the new models for physical shops, and how they can attract and retain an audience amidst the convenience and low cost of online retailers.

While the ‘death of the high street’ has become a favoured headline for years it perpetually ignores the fact that a number of developers, retailers and designers are creating new shopping destinations that upend the old models.

The audience will hear an expert panel, including Craig White of Argent, Jamie Fobert of Jamie Fobert Architects, Ross Bailey of Appear Here and Rachel Arthur of Fashion & Mash, argue that bricks and mortar shops will not just survive, but thrive in the future.

‘Is there a future for physical shops?’ will be on 22 September, 18:00 – 19:00, at Gasholders, King’s cross. To book tickets click here. For further information please contact Estelle Jarvis: Estelle@carocommunications.com.
