The pandemic means we’re all spending much more time at home, demanding that our personal spaces work harder than ever before. But homes don’t exist in isolation; they form neighbourhoods knitted within communities. Considered design of our homes and neighbourhoods can make us happier and healthier, allow us to live longer in our homes as we age, and create strong communities with biodiversity, sustainability and diverse lifestyle choices built into their fabric.
On Tuesday 8 December, Caro Communications will be launching House by Urban Splash’s brand new Live Well by Design Manifesto, a set of principles that underpins everything the company builds – from houses to playgrounds, parks to cycleways. In a talk chaired by Marcus Fairs of Dezeen, a panel comprising Kenta Konishi, CEO of Sekisui House; Suzy Jones, Director of House by Urban Splash’s future lab; and Albert Hill, founder of The Modern House, will explore why design matters – and why it’s a powerful tool for enabling us all to live better.
