Caro at Open House Festival 2024

The annual Open House Festival is a highlight of the London architecture and design calendar, and the 2024 programme was the biggest edition since the festival began.

As cultural communications strategist, Caro provides support to the Festival throughout the year, and we were delighted to help the team acquire coverage in wallpaper*, the Evening Standard, Architects’ Journal, Londonist, Time Out, Yahoo, the Telegraph, Money Savings Expert, and many more. We were so pleased to receive such a glowing review from the team in the fantastic 2024 evaluation report – find out more.

We were delighted to be invited to curate a Collection for the Festival, on the theme of spaces Saved by Local People: highlighting spaces that exist at the intersections of London’s social and political life: buildings and places that have been saved, restored or reactivated by local people for their communities. The spaces in the collection have all been, or are in the process of being, saved from dereliction, eviction, or demolition.

The Collection features buildings that have been afforded a second lease of life right across the capital. Through acts of protest, community-led conservation, or simply congregations of people with a shared passion for motorcycling, Caro recognises the local people that keep these buildings and their progressive social and political activity alive.
