The National Gallery Company Ltd introduces its new ‘Monet and Architecture’ product range, now available in the Gallery Shops and online. Inspired by the major exhibition currently on display at the National Gallery until 29 July 2018, the range includes a vast array of items from statement home pieces to stylish fashion accessories, giftware and stationery.
The collection is defined by five different themes that explore Monet’s key topics and some of his most acclaimed paintings. ’The Thames Below Westminster’, one of the works created by Monet when he moved to London in 1870, is replicated as a print on a number of products such as textiles and stationery; another key influence is ‘The Water-Lily Pond’, one of Monet’s iconic masterpieces – colours taken from the painting can be found on a selection of items; ‘The Rue Montorgeuil, Paris’ or more commonly known as ‘The Fête Nationale’, which celebrates the first French National Day of 30 June 1878, appears as a print on various lines and as a colour inspiration for some of the jewellery and accessories; the exhibition’s main theme, architecture, is a recurring motif within the range with products for both adults and children; finally, the new collection also includes French-inspired pieces that recall Monet’s depiction of French cities and lifestyle.
