A year in review 2021

In January, Thames Lens added a new Illuminated River category to the competition, under the theme ‘My Thames Vision’. 

In March, we celebrated Neal Shasore joining the London School of Architecture as head of school.

At the 17th Venice Biennale, we supported the Irish Pavilion exhibition ‘Entanglement’, exploring the materiality of data, and the interwoven human, environmental and cultural impacts of communication technologies

In the spring we welcome three new clients, EPIC Games, Carl Hansen and Søn and Pinton design. 

In April, our clients VitrA bathrooms opened their new UK showroom in Clerkenwell and in September they launched Liquid, a collaboration with Tom Dixon.

Five bridges were added to Illuminated River, the world’s longest public artwork.

In May, Morris + Company completed a multifunctional block that contains an energy hub, cafe and nursery at Elephant and Castle in London. 

In June, the Museum of the Home reopened after a major restoration by Wright & Wright Architects. 

The inaugural Davidson Prize was won by HomeForest, a project by Squint/Opera, Haptic Architects, Coda to Coda, LionHeart Felt and Yaoyao Meng

In July we helped Krill Design crowdfund more than €39,000 to launch Ohmie, the world’s first lamp made from orange peels. 

Moxon completed a new pedestrian bridge over Regent’s Canal at King’s Cross, with Arup.

In August we visited the newly opened Farmyard at The Newt by our client Richard Parr Associates, and in October, they welcomed us to their new London studio People’s Space.

In September, we were back in Milan for Salone del Mobile, featuring our clients Lodes, Krill and Minotti. 

In London we supported Planted at the London Design Festival. 

In November we were in Glasgow for COP 26, and online for the World Architecture Festival.
