3XN GXN Architects – a new landmark for Sydney

Equivalent in size to four football fields, the new Sydney Fish Market, by 3XN GXN Architects in association with BVN Architecture and Aspect Studios represents a transformative moment for Blackwattle Bay.

Delivered by Multiplex Construction for Infrastructure NSW, the Fish Market is a major new civic landmark for the city. It features expansive new public space, with new views across the bay and Anzac Bridge, forming part of a continuous harbour front walkway.

The design puts the daily operations of the fish market on display for the first time and gives visitors the chance to experience the behind-the-scenes workings of the market firsthand, while the new public space features five artworks, diverse seating, and a 100% native plant palette that helps purify water before it returns to the harbour.

Caro Communications has supported 3XN GXN on a range of communications activity since 2025, securing coverage from Wallpaper*, Architectural Record, Metropolis, ArchitectureAU and Dezeen amongst others.
