Open House Festival – making architecture more accessible
For over 30 years, Open City has worked to encourage greater equity in London’s architecture and built environment – key to year-round programme is the annual, city-wide Open House Festival, which sees hundreds of places in all of the boroughs open their doors to the public.
Each year the Festival engages tens of thousands of visitors across 700+ sites from Barnet to Bromley, Havering to Hillingdon. This year’s highlights include a guided walking tour of the ongoing development work at Broadwater Farm, Rana Begum’s Little Citadel, the BT Tower, Sadler’s Well East, Culture House – the first permanent exhibition space for Somali artefacts curated by the Somali community, as well as a set of curated collections exploring culture, homecoming, print, publishing and archives.
The festival is a firm favourite at Caro, and we are delighted to be partnering with Open City as the charity’s cultural communications strategist.
