Studio Saar – craft and community

Based in Somerset and Rajasthan, Studio Saar creates sustainable solutions for society, through the cross-cultural sharing of ideas, methodologies and technologies.

The studio’s architecture is rooted in understanding the importance of people, culture and place – its approach interprets vernacular traditions through a contemporary lens to create innovative, relevant, and beautiful design solutions.

Key projects in India include Secure Sanand Factory in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, a city-wide, initiative to redevelop a series of parks across Rajastan, and Third Space: The Haveli of Creativity, Curiosity and Community in Udaipur, while in the UK the practice has been working on Mayday Saxonvale, an alternative, community-led masterplan for Frome

Caro Communications has represented Studio Saar internationally since 2021, overseeing press, events and other communications activities.
