The Davidson Prize — Brief writing and holistic management of a transformational prize that communicates the architecture of home
Founded in 2019 in memory of the innovative architect and technologist Alan Davidson, the Davidson Prize is an annual design ideas competition recognising transformative architecture of the home.
Caro has worked closely with the Alan Davidson Foundation since inception, to embed the Prize in the creative awards calendar, create and develop briefs, raise the profile of the award, secure wide-ranging media coverage, create content for and manage social media channels and digital content, forge partnerships, select and manage the jury, and event manage the jury sessions and award ceremonies.
In 2026, participants responded to the theme, ‘Changing the Game: Building Play into Housing’ – the winning project was PLAYDECK by R.U.A Studio and the People’s Choice Prize was awarded to THE (Connected) GREAT (Green) PARK (Play) ESTATE by BPTW with Farrer Huxley, Julie Futcher, Arup, and Play Disrupt
The 2025 winning project was 300 Homes within a Union Street mile from the project team: Clifton Emery Design, Nudge Community Builders, Millfields Trust, Plymouth Energy Community and Devon and Cornwall Planning Consultants.
The 2024 winning project was Apartment Story by Studio Saar, Landstory, Stories, BAS, Megaphone Creative.
The 2023 winning project, Helping Hands by Studio Mutt and Neighbourhood with the Independence Initiative, Hugh Baird College, Islington Hostel Outreach, Amber Akaunu, Peter O’Neill and Dead Good Poets Society.
The 2022 winning project was Co-Living in the Countryside by Charles Holland Architects with Quality of Life Foundation, Verity-Jane Keefe, Joseph Zeal-Henry.
The 2021 winning project was HomeForest by Project team: Haptic Architects, Squint/Opera, Coda to Coda, LionHeart and Yaoyao Meng.
