Revamp of postmodernist icon James Stirling’s One Poultry begins
Work is underway to revamp One Poultry, the iconic James Stirling postmodernist building on Bank Junction, into state-of-the-art office space. The new scheme by Aermont Capital and General Projects, who have commissioned Buckley Gray Yeoman architects, will embrace the heritage of the recently grade II*-listed building, whilst turning it into an attractive proposition for a new generation of city tenants – with gym-like facilities for runners and cyclists, a double-height reception featuring contemporary art, and voluminous office floors. One Poultry joins a number of other projects in marking out the area – best known for the Bank of England, Mansion House and Royal Exchange – as a new hub of culture, leisure and amenity, including Bloomberg’s new European headquarters and new hotel, The Ned London, from Soho House Group.
